How Piccadilly Gardens once looked and how they could be so much better!

  1. It's a very good idea but this doesn't need a Westminster petition. That's what the city council is for. It's a local issue not one of national importance.

Request a meeting with MCC who actually have the power to do something about it, including granting the planning permission which would be required for this.

Get talking to Manchester businesses who might be prepared to sponsor the work. The council is very strapped for cash, making redundancies etc.

  2. Stakeholder letters were sent out to many Cllrs, MPs, MEPs, organisations and businesses in January 2013. Although there were some keen replies, there seemed to be no commitment drive this initiative forward. Of course this is a local issue, but the e-petition seems to be a good way for people show their support for this idea and a way to get this enthusiasm noticed by those in positions of power and influence.

Thanks for your interest. Hope everyone signs the petition and keeps spreading the idea! :)
